I just thought I'd make a quick video to show what my home theater looks like.

To some not into the home theater hobby like I am, a 92" screen may seem big, but for a front projection set-up it really is on the smaller side. However, since I do not have a basement, and could only use my living room, I was limited to the size of the room. Right now, at 92", watching movies is comfortable, if I went too much bigger I'd start having to look from side to side like sitting in the front row of a movie theater and that's just no fun.

I am pretty happy with what I have, which took a few years to accumulate. I think my next upgrade will be getting a proper amp to run my center and rear channels. I'd like to go to a Widescope screen and use a Panamorph lens so I could have a constant height set-up, but I think I'll wait unitl I buy a house with a basement and can build a true theater room. Who knows, maybe not. ;)

Thanks for watching.

  • it's funny how a lot of blokes (myself included) try to make the best of a "undesirable" situation with our home theatre - in my case bedroom setup. Nice setup BTW.

  • @MADMANx511 Thanks for the compliment. Yeah, I had to make some sacrifices like not having sunlight in my living room, but it was worth it.

  • Nice setup and choice of components and speakers, I just like a more uncluttered room, simple is best.

  • @KreativeM5 I agree about the uncluttered room. However, I didn't want to give up performance becasue I have such a small room, knowing that eventually I'll move to another house with better conditions to creating a dedicated room. The house in this video doesn't have a basement so I was limited to use the living room.

I'll have a much better room in a couple of years if all goes as planned. :)

  • Man thats a sweet theater ! dont your neighbors get mad with such a big bass and the theater not being in a basement or atleast upstairs kind of away from the other houses lol also it would be perfect if the room was just a bit bigger but you cant make this much better especially the dog!! go dog!!!! woop!

  • @iMaMw2Addicted I'm very fortunate that my neighbor doesn't mind, she actually can hear the bass in her house but we've talked about it. :) I agree, I wish I had a bigger room too. It would be really nice to have a basement so I could just build a room of my own design. :) Thanks for the compliments.

  • Wow you got some nice kit there! I love the idea of the speakers fitted under the couch :)

  • Oh my god you stold m dog

  • nice system mate

  • If you every get enough money you should look at definitive technology for your speakers and try for their ridiculous 12.1 surround system. For a receiver later if you can get a better one, onkyo or yamaha are the two best rated out there.

  • that is the most redneck home theater you can get hahaha

  • awesome. i wish i had a room like this!! lol xD
