@bloggulator Tottaly agree with you my friend. Phil's magical sounds are missing . R.I.P. Mick. With all respect to his son, There will never be another like his dad.
2 days ago the great Micky Jones passed away. About 5 years ago I saw Micky & the rest of Man play at the Coventry Jazz festival. Micky provided a vituoso guitar performance that day that will live long in the memory. George seen playing here also was wonderful on the day along with Bob and Ace. Keep the legacy going boys
It is vvery strange that back in the 70's Man were referred to as the British version of the Allman Brothers ...... now many years later both bands are still going - thanks to various sons stepping in.
I absolutely love Man. But....this version of C'mon is a pale shadow of the amazing version on the Be Good To Yourself live album from the 1970s. I really miss Phil Ryan's keyboards.. this song *NEEDS* that Minimoog and Hammond.
Man just a few months ago i discovered with a lot of pleasure that they're still here.Iknew in 75.I could'nt in the eighties in France, buy any record of them.WHAT A PLEASURE BROTHERS.DENIS
One of the Trilogy. C'mon, Bananas and Spunk Rock. This is MUSIC! Not the garbage (with the odd exception) that has been churned out in the last 20 years. MAN rocks the Kingdom!
oh by the way i hope martin enjoyed the tom petty tape "echoes"by tom petty back when they played at the rayners hotel pub nice to see and chat with deke and the boys...
well where do we start.......ithink the way it all slows and empties and gets hypnotic with a touch of acid suits my liking rock on you fuckers x . its lovely to hear empty ...see you on the gower x
Interesting to see them again but they aren't what they were. vocals are poor and all of the tempos are too quick. They were, in my opinion, great for their persistent laid back tempos and very very tight. That's gone. I loved them from the early 70's on until about the 1980's. Saw them live loads of times.
wot a classic band - highly underrated
