  • You don't have to be an idiot to "believe this shit." Cults deliberately prey on the weak and the desperate. That's why you always see them turning up at disaster sites like Katrina, hoping to rope in people who have lost everything with the promise Scientology can make it all better. It's not like they plop the Xenu story in your lap during your first audit.

  • After 16 episodes,I can say John's story unfolds like an engrossing novel! If you've started watching and might feel tempted to can it after just a few parts, stay with it or come back, 'cause it's worth it, as it gets more & more interesting,as it follows John's processing, promotions, doubts, battles with Scientology from within, & escape! You learn lots of what exactly's wrong with Scientology (lots).I found myself identifying with John & rooting for him.A valuable, fascinating cautionary tale!

  • 217 people are Sp's. And proud of it.

  • hmmm..so the three dislikes are from scientologists? :)

  • Many really intelligent people also get conned by Scientology too so it is unfair to say or claim anything different. I know that it is very hard to believe but it is true; mind control and hypnosis etc can do much to a persons mind and greatly affect/effect their normal way of thinking, whether they are intelligent or not.

  • @deweypug Now you're changing your emphasis. With some people its best if you actually show it to them because I think you could try to describe it to them umpteen times and they still would miss the point.

  • @boru1982 No, I do not think I'm missing the point... YOU were lured in by a free IQ test? That is gullible to believe there is nothing in it for the test givers, don't you think? AND they made you feel like you were disturbed? You were vulnerable and weak. So my point stands, Scientology (and for that matter, most of these religions) prey on the weak.

  • 3 people believe in Scientology

  • @deweypug you're missing the point - its not how they lure you in (when i was in Sydney, I was lured in by a free IQ test - does that make me weak!?), its the way they make you feel after the question test, the way they interpret your results. They make you feel very disturbed. I was even told I had suicidal tendencies.

  • @madra2 I see him every Tuesday, great guy who has time for everybody - but not giving the location away.

Based on your comment, I believe you've proven that very point.
