Bearings used are KOYO JAPANESE crankshaft bearings with C3 clearence for normal running conditions http://www.loctite.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/henkel_uke/hs.xsl/fullproduct-list-loct... Note
The start of this vid was made a few months ago but due to illness the vid was finnished jan 2012 .So it would have been a while ago when i last seen dennis to give him the jawa 350/638 engine and not as the vid would suggest . Cheer's all Terry

  • What do you use to freez the crankshaft ? i'm waiting to replay

  • @iroq22

Hi , The only method i have is to use my domestic freezer while my wife's not looking :-)

But first i wrap the crank in plastic bag to try and seal it in whilst in freezer .

I've used this method for quite a few years with different Jawa's 634 / 638 e.t.c. and find that assembly is very easy this way .

    All the best Terry

  • Hi Dennis

Thank's glad you like the vid , in the past when i've fitted these cranks i've missed the dowl recess by a couple of mm , but once its in its in l.o.l. So i thought i'de make some sort of guide , and im pleased to say it worked great so hopfully they will all go in this well :from now on :-) Apart from top end the rest should be done in next couple of days ,

Hop all is well with you . All the best Terry
