@The1Netizen Yes, I know that. I have just finished his book "When the body says No: Understanding the Stress-Disease Connection." It is a masterpiece, I recommend everyone! From Budapest, Hungary.

@crc187 Yes, he was born in Hungary but he had to runaway at age of 8 together with his parents due to severe political reasons.

I live this man. He's my hero.

Two years ago, the NZ Parliament was seriously considering a nationwide ban on all tobacco products. Imagine for a moment if they passed it. What would happen?
Would the country fall apart? Would millions of addicts riot in the streets until they got their fix? Or, would milions of smokers actually consider why they've been smoking?

If you want to know why you use any substance including legal ones, live life without any of them for awhile. There is no one answer for people who get into difficulty with drugs, legal and illegal or alcohol. However it is always easy to judge and blame the individual rather than see them in the context of their own personal history and the context of the wider environment of their family ,community and the altogether inhospitable, alienating environment of the world we all live in.

Dr. Gábor Máté is not from the Mars. He is from Hungary. A Genius.

Ayahuasca cure people from drugs, there is a process called CURA where the percentage of people who stopped using drugs is staggering

@INeedTOExpressMyself thats the problem , one needs a shaman for guiding before you can do it yourself people like to underestimate its power of truth.

I have suffered from addiction and drunk ayahuasca over 30 times, but rather than make my addictions better, it actually made them much worse. The thing with ayahuasca is that it opens you up to so much that if you are not ready to handle it, or more importantly are not working with someone who can help you integrate the experiences into your life after taking it, your addictions can get worse because you turn to them for comfort. Iboga seems to have a better track record with addictions.
-
@tracksuitjim Yeah me too. Gabor Mate helped me understand exactly that. I realised for the first time why I was addicted to opiates. I was adopted TWICE ! When I was 2 months old, they brought me back saying it wasn't working out (apparently I was freaking out & screaming 24/7) and then a couple of months later I was adopted by Mum & Dad. Can you imagine the feelings of rejection that little baby was feeling. My first shot of smack was like being in heaven,...such peace & contentment.
-
@unholyascension Yes. I just looked at my comment and i said i had a discussion with a UFO-buff and i now remember i smoked a spliff with him. So i was kinda stoned when i was typing this :) Sorry for that confusion! But i believe i had a good point, no?

@texasB666 astrology is important? i hope you mean astronomy.
-
@texasB666 Agreed. Exploring inner space is just as important as exploring outer space. T. Mckenna was an awesome mind.
-
@brettmattei Because our world, as it is now, (and you know it and i know it) is such a huge huge mess. i just had a discussion with a UFO-buff and i told him that science, space-travel and astrology are all great and important but we first need to take care of our own planet before we phisically want to explore space. Our world is in crisis because of the absence of GOOD ideas, like T. Mckenna once said.
-
@brettmattei Correct. My yagé-experience is something i will never forget because it felt like i was loved. Love i never felt in my entire life. I didn't really have personal problems, i was just very curious but it made me realize how ridiculous (in a very positive way) everything is. We as humans MUST evolve and the most powerful thing, the MOST IMPORTANT thing, that we all really need right now, is love, peace and real freedom. Only than we can grow to our fullest potential. *cont*
