Mya Shone, who visited India recently, discusses dogs in India. A safe haven exists in the center of New Delhi, India, amidst the tombs of the Mughal Sayyid and Lodi dynasties. Early in the morning, while people practice yoga and joggers make their way through the 100-acre Lodi Garden, dedicated people feed and tend to the veterinary needs of abandoned and feral dogs. The lives of these dogs provide a sharp contrast to the millions of dogs throughout India who depend upon scavenged garbage for their survival.
