Summer season has arrived! This week we are talking all about ways to safeguard your skin against the hot weather of the summer. The heat can dehydrate your skin and clog your pores which will cause you to break out, but there are things you can include in your makeup routine to beat the heat.

The first, and most significant, step in your makeup routine should be applying SPF. A lot of moisturizers already have SPF in them, but you should still apply additional sunscreen under your makeup. You can never have too much!

The second thing you should include in your makeup routine, if you haven't already, is primer. This is going to keep your makeup from melting off of your face during the day! Many primers also have SPF in them, so that's always a good addition.

The type of products you use can also make a huge difference. In the summer, cream and liquid products are most ideal because they will sink and blend into your skin instead of just sit on the top layer of your skin. They will stay on longer and won't rub out as easily as powder products.

The last step in your makeup routine should be spritzing a few pumps of a makeup setting spray to secure your makeup in place. There are tons of makeup setting sprays out on the market, but they are also easy to make yourself. Look out for a future video on that, we are currently testing different formulas out!

These are just a few ways you can make your makeup last longer and protect your skin against the heat this summer. If you know of any more tips, leave a comment below and let us know!
