I agree, not really a fan of the original Polo. This is I think is an improvement overall, but smell is entirely subjective and I know many people that feel the original is superior!

I've just discovered you guys, and I love the whole "Mr & Mrs" thing (ahem...why isn't "Mrs" namechecked in your channel name?). I love Katie's outrage and disgust in this review, and it cracked me up that the end summary clearly left her disapproval out of the equation. I wanted her to pipe up and disagree with every rating her boyfriend gave it.

I never understand why guys say something is girly to wear like AXE versus Cologne and how there are even Men's Men cologne. I don't wear scents for men, I wear them to attract woman so obviously if the girl likes it, what a guy says doesn't matter a ton. I've heard a lot of nice stuff about polo even if she thinks its like a "pine tree" xD.

By the way, great review. This masterpiece has received little attention on youtube, so well done for brining this 'sleeper' to the surface. None of the 'big' reviewers (marc, kerosene et al) have picked-up on this little gem. Wake up for heavens sake!! :-)

Polo Modern Reserve is truly an amazing fragrance in my opinion. Hard to fathom that this is not only an improvement on the original masterpiece, but also, that it was released in 2008. Ralph Lauren should be applauded for having balls of steel, bravo...

Hey David, thanks for the review. Can't believe you're the only one to have reviewed this great fragrance - all you reviewers out there wake up! I find this quite different to the original which is now slightly outdated. A much more sophisticated, confident scent - really hard to fathom this was released in 2008. Once again, thanks for the great review!

Well I for one, get compliments from women all the time when i wear this, and no not from older women 50 and up, and certainly not from teeny booper bouncy omg valley girl type either, but from Women of true elegance and CLASS, that like a man smelling like a MAN, not cotton candy or some pre adolescent teen going on his first date, smelling aquatic and fruity. Hell if i wanted to smell like EAU de Skittles id crush them up and rub them all over me. Men should smell "MASCULINE" Period!!!!!

This stuff is great for picking up women ... what i do is put an excessive amount on a cloth and then put it over her mouth ... does the trick every time ... lol
