Hey mate, how did you go about getting the flexibility to do overhead squats? And forget about the haters, kettlebell workouts absolutely cane, one of the best forms of strength cardio.

@cornerstone111 It really depends on your flexibility. If you are inflexible in your shoulders, the approach would be different from an approach dealing with inflexibility in your hip flexors and hip joint. For some people inflexibility is basically the result of weak muscles in certain areas. Therefore I cannot really give you a great answer without knowing any assessment. My weak point for example are shoulders.

@Shaolos Did you start off at a lighter weight? I can snatch a 32kg bell, but can so far only do the overhead squats with 2 12kg bells.

@cornerstone111 Hahah I most likely can snatch a 32kg bell but have done so only once or twice. I can overhead squat 40kg though, my max was 2x32 in the OH Squat. I did start with ONE 16kg bell on every side and did timed sets just like in girevoy sports. I did a lot of regular back squatting and front squatting with barbells at the beginning to work flexibility. After some time I used an empty barbell for OH squats, then 2 16s. From then on it was smooth sailing.
