AWD vs RWD

Notice the composure of the RWD cars around the corner, where the AWD Audi and Evo X understeer wide despite identical entry speeds and identical lines.

This test is very scientific and 100% conclusive.

For those complaining I am not ragging on AWD nor saying it is useless. All I am saying is that in my opinion when a driver is looking for pure driving enjoyment through twisty roads, RWD is superior.

Still, on that kind of road, a well driven evo or sti would be the fastest.

Just look at rallye and hillclimb classement, evo and sti are always the fastest of the group N (nearest group to production cars).

@RaskVousSalue Yes you are probably right, however when you buy a sporty car, 99.9% of the time you aren't racing or trying to see who is fastest on public roads. You are just out for a bit of fun. Hence why my description says "for pure driving enjoyment."

@summeronthechain I have some nice twisties here and I try to be as fast as possible. But you're right, for the fun only, RWD is the best.

Come to think about it, I bet a Stock Evo 10 vs e46 m3 vs NSX would be a fairly close "race" on a road like that. It would be interesting for sure, driver's equal.

theres a bit of a problem there both cars were lowered and suspension stiffened which means they have to be going a bit faster for the car not to understeer

The Evo has factory suspension.
