Every Child's Heart (Original Anti Cancer Song)

I wrote this song back in 1998 for my young friend Parker Merritt who passed away after his fight with Lukemia. Love to Lynn, Kat, and Keahia. Not long after that we met another friend (Ryan) who was in the same fight. A few years ago, our friend and next door neighbor Sarah White also had the same fight with cancer. My sweet sister-in-law Debbie Johnson lost her fight, only a few years ago. My Step-Father also faught the good fight. My wife lost her birth mother to cancer. Today, I have two more friends, that I know of, Penny Bradley and Marshall Jenseny who are in the same fight. Penny is a girl from school who I had a crush on but never went out with. With that in mind, I thought I ought to record this song and upload it. I did the music in Dec 2011 and have just added the extra guitar and vocals.

As a side note: I used the lyrics (then called A Little Piece of Heaven) as a fund raiser through The Make A Wish Foundation. I was told via Morgan Stanley that a donation was made in my name for 50 to 75 Thousand Dollars.

As another side note: Just after I met my wife, her Aunt died of Lung cancer. I was with her and her parent when they were saying goodbye. My Uncle Ben also died of Lung cancer. Not a pretty death. To my friends who smoke, and to my brother and Rion, stop now, while you have your health. Please!

@MrECLECTICIAN - The line about the pain is about me, as is the crash and burn. With all the auto accidents and sports injures, I have lived with chronic pain for 25 years or more. I just started Laser treatment. I have got to tell you, I am starting to feel great. But I have not lived with anything like cancer, and I don’t think I could. My friend are the real hero’s.
