  • McCaine & America where defeated by Vietnamese peasants, and ran home in disgrace!

The U.S military is a pathetic joke, you American losers spend more on your army than the next 15 nations combined yet you can't even secure the airport in Baghdad.

  • @wnxsilence i only said we russians lost afghanistan is why our beloved USSR fell after our invasion in afghanistan? so i could say the mujahideen really did damage the morale of our armies

  • @wnxsilence well i just do not understand why u.s. wanna fight small north vietnam it really puzzled me the ARVN first of all is not their colony then why should they try to help them i am just comparing afghanistan in vietnam because both sides the u.s. and us did not prevent our ally from falling into enemy hands

  • @wnxsilence well by 1973 north vietnams le duc tho and u.s.a's henry kessinger signed the paris peace treaty my friend and u.s. was out and by 1975 without u.s. help the ARVN proved they cannot hold without amerikan firepower it was the ARVN who failed completely

  • @wnxsilence well just look at panjshir we failed to conquer it but your right if we remained there we will kick the taliban asses and kabul will never fall

  • @dimitboris It could be said that it wasn't a complete failure for the U.S

One thing the U.S achieved was destroying Vietnam, and preventing any possibility that the Vietnamese may set an example for others aka. ("Domino theory")...the U.S did this by making the cost of independence so high, leveling the country, and killing up to 5 million people...

So yes, America didn't completely fail. But it did fail in preventing the collapse of the regime in the South and a reunification of Vietnam.

  • @dimitboris The Vietnam war was not even fought on the official "DMZ" between North and South, this wasn't Korea. In Vietnam, the U.S was involved in destroying the insurgency WITHIN the territory of South Vietnam...and that is where most of the U.S war effort was directed at, and ultimately failed in doing.

True, it become too costly for the U.S to remain in Vietnam...but I don't see how that is relevant to the question of whether the U.S lost or not.

  • @dimitboris You don't even understand the Vietnam war, first off it wasn't waged as a conventional war as you seem to wrongfully believe. There were not two armies facing each other on the battlefield, it was not a war between the army of North Vietnam and the army of the U.S.

This is why I said it was idiotic for you to compare Vietnam to Afghanistan.

  • @dimitboris And, if the Soviet Army has remained in Afghanistan the Taliban couldn't have captured Kabul.

    I don't understand your point...
