This is really quite nice. This person is feeling the spirit of the piece. The 15 minute John Williams version is, IMO, the ultimate recording of it, but this is very beautiful also.
He doesn't play it slow. The speed is good. It's not rushed and it allows you to actually feel the music. Nice job on the piece!
And if you notice, this video is only 10min long. John Williams played this piece (all 3 movements) in 15min. So, this guy may have revised it a bit, but he did a great job.
Domeniconi is from italy, but he studied in berlin and in Istanbul.
I've heard a lot of interpretations of koyunbaba. This one isn't the cleanest one, however it is an interesting version and it has some kind of spirit.
And I think that old strings are not really the worst for performing this piece. It's quite more authentic if the sound is some kind of "dirty".

Only Li Jie and Xuefei Yang done the entire piece in one take on YT. He is very good but not quite the entire piece, so close.
