My 22YO sister is a qualified hairdresser & beautician, but was recently dismissed from her job at a high-street salon- UNFAIRLY, in my opinion.
She was being criticised & insulted by a client (a rich, horrible woman in her 40s) while washing her hair over the sink. Understandably annoyed, she got the freshly boiled kettle & emptied the contents over the woman’s head! Yes, there were some burns to her scalp (minor injuries) but I thought managers were supposed to support their employees?

that isn't it either. . . when some people get outta of cosmetology school, they go to these places. the same kick ass stylist today, may have begun at any regis owned salon, i.e., supercuts, walmart salon, hair masters, etc. some people, like me, prefer to only cut mens hair and not bother with anybody else. i'd rather be a barber now than to be bothered with any woman any time. even the pickiest guy is better to work on than the easiest woman. hands down. and men tip better!

Everyone gives the stylists at walmart a hard time, but I've known a few to be fantastic at what they do. Not everyone who works at a Smart Style sucks. They just get jobs there because they're not that good or because they aren't good in interviews. They work hard, and if your service goes wrong it's usually because the person isn't clear on what they want. Now some will screw you over, but that's because they don't care. Choose wisely. Talk to your stylist before you get a cut done.
