Part 8a - In this episode, we will continue to explore Spire while continuing to gather power. See below, if you wish to read the puzzle solution.

***SPOILER***

1) Press the blue button on the left side of the device.

2) Once it is open, flip the small lever (on the left) to the downward position.

3) Move the bottom slider all the way to the left, then back to its center position, then to the right.

4) This lights up 2 of the crystals.

In closing, special thanks to Ubisoft for creating such a great game! Also, thanks to Cyan Worlds for creating the first few Myst games.

  • I see no plant or animal life. What did he eat?

  • I assume he survived off of his garden.

  • @EllipticalRealm Yeah, but do you ever run across his garden in this? It's been a while since I played this game, but I don't recall seeing it, just hearing about it..

  • @sera - If you watch Part 8b you'll see his garden. Of course, I'm not sure what sort of plants he has.

For all I know, it could be a flower garden. However it looks like a lot of greenery / leaves and some plants with stalks to them which could be fruits or vegetables. Either way, it's a meager meal at best. He must have struggled a lot. It's sad really.

Another idea: Since we know his parents kept an eye on him. It's possible they either brought him food or wrote it into the book / world.

  • This is why I love MYST (And Spire) It combines science and imagination so perfectly. They even explain the floating rocks with real science. 8D

I'm just saying, it's completely inspiring.

  • I love how Atrus is planning a trap with his queen and wondering if Sirrus will "think ahead" enough to see past it, while Sirrus is planning on taking it, figuring that he's just way smarter than Atrus for seeing that the queen was wide open.
