A documentary about doulas produced for the 25th Hour, Carleton University's current affairs program for 4th year journalism students.
Doulas are becoming an important and more common part of the birthing team. But what exactly do they do? In this short documentary, we explore what having a doula means for the mother, and why they are so important during childbirth.
In a perfect world, the two phone interviews with these two lovely women would have been in-person interviews, but despite our efforts, this was the best we could do in time for our deadline. Apologies :)
Also note that while we mention Mothercraft's doula program for vulnerable women, the beautiful mothers/mothers to be in this doc are part of the regular program!
A big thanks to Gillian Szollos from Mothercraft for her time and efforts to help make this doc!
