Words and music by Louis Armstrong:
Let him put you down, if he dares,
I'll pick you up for myself,
Just as soon, I don't care,
You'll never rest on the shelf.
I've been searching for a girl like you so long,
A girl that's warm and tender with a love that's strong,
I'll make life for you, one grand sweet song,
Oh, give me a break, sweet Mama,
You know you can't go wrong,
Me for you, you for me, that's the only way
Two loving hearts should be.
So just be glad when he puts you down,
Cause I'll pick you up for myself.
Ted Casher is one of the best tenor players I've ever heard. I had the pleasure of playing with him at Rayburn Music in Boston, and he is truly amazing. He has a nice smooth rich sound, with a great sub tone. I wish I could've heard him play the tenor in this video.
