Celebrate Black History month at Swann Galleries' African American Fine Art sale. Offering two important works by renowned Chicago figurative artist Charles White, Hope Imprisoned, 1946, tempera on paper, and Move On Up a Little Higher, 1961, charcoal and Wolff crayon on illustration board, this sale spans the artist's career. Additional highlights include Hughie Lee-Smiths masterful Untitled (Rooftop View), oil on masonite, 1957, Elizabeth Catletts impressive mid-career sculpture, Black Head, polished black marble, circa 1973-74 and Benny Andrews' painting of artist and friend, Bob Thompson, 1966.
