140 ft = 43 m, that can't be much more than the height of the vessel keel - masthead

for a seaman its always painful to see a ship dying... less, it was a majestically sinking of elegance... well done by the specialists who set the explosions... the speed of the sinking is very impressive...

Blowed up real good!
I was aboard this ship working for Military Sealift Command during one of the shuttle launches in the early 90's. It launched at night and we were 3 miles out from the launch site at Cape Canaveral (Cape Kennedy). As a sailor and a diver. I have mixed emotions about this sinking. I know it will make a great addition to the artificial reef program. It great for the underwater environment. On the down side. I hate to see the death of any ship, especially one I worked on. Good Bye Hoyt!

Idiots who film these things should know the subject is the sinking of the ship, not the "Wooo!" and arm raising people. In just about every sequince, just before the ship meets her fate beneath the sea, they cut away to show the people. You can always show the people- But the last sight of the once proud vessel ifssacred and only happens once. Very sad video.
