DJ QBert SFO Airport 12-2-11

So, I "work" just around the corner from the San Francisco International Airport which technically isn't in the city of San Francisco.

I kept seeing on twitter that DJ Qbert was going to perform at the airport.

I was a little disappointed that for most of the showcase he was playing beats from a iphone while scratching along to it using the right deck. For the most part the left deck was a staging area for the next record he wanted to use.

Still it was cool being so close to a legend. During the show, his people were randomly giving away Monster headphones and Thud Rumble merchandise. I got a "Labels for your Tables" set and a Turntable DVD that he autographed later.

Regrettably, I didn't have my video camera handy so I had to film with my iPhone 3GS which was running out of room.

@djbigron Actually, we were on a 2nd floor mezzanine level. The main crowd was below. The people behind him were the folks that got there a little early.

good stuff man! don't be surprised about que goin' one handed bandit. he's a scratch dj and has always favored the right deck in his dvd sets. he's my hero so i ain't saying it's a bad thing, especially at the level that he makes sounds that nobody else can achieve from vinyl. my three favorite djs are Q, Jazzy Jeff, and Dennis Blaze in that order.
