If you recycle new construction Drywall trimmings removing the paper becomes unnecessary. The only reason to remove the paper from drywall before using it as a soil amendment is possible lead contamination from paint. Earth worms love the paper and as such the paper is actually a bonus. I own and operate a drywall recycling operation in central Indiana and was the first person to contact the state of Indiana with the idea. No one should be allowed to landfill drywall it is so easy to recycling.
