@cavalrytm The individual carbine competition. Piston AR15's are in the competition, but that doesn't mean they will be adopted. They may or may not.

I forget the name of the competition or whatever the hell they are calling it, but they are trying to switch to a piston AR platform. Mine runs great, I've probably put 1000 or more rounds through it by now. Pretty easy to do with the 30 round mags I've got lol.

Probably a dpms AR or some other knockoff brand. ARs have to be built to spec with high qc or this is what is going to happen. Eugene stoner never intended for corners to be cut in his design. I'd take a well built ar anyday. I like ak's though don't get me wrong

@cavalrytm They specifically redesigned the M4 to take a piston with the HK416. They didn't just jimmy rig a piston on a M4. You don't have a HK416. The military hasn't said it will adopt a piston rifle. It's possible though.

I've had 3 of my AK's and 1 AR in a locked vice (no human element). The AR shot tighter groups at 150 yards than every single on the AK's. Even had a friend with a modded AK74 I believe, and the AR still shot tighter groups.
Again, I like both. They are equally fun to shoot and get the job done. Having said that, I think I'm seeing some AK bias in your comments...
