As you can see Crysis 1's first map ("Island") is working on Crysis 2 for PS3. It has shading problems though as well as no AI, no prefabs and some other stuff is missing. This is caused by incompatibilities between CryEngine 3 and CryEngine 2.
I won't publish how to do it for legal reasons.

BTW: In reality it looks much better than in this video.

EDIT:

I've made a simple sample map, watch the video here (download and instructions in the description): http://youtu.be/U4wdYftp1rA

  • Dude - How the fuck did you manage to do this ? Could you give a short explanation for non-modders?

  • @Gogeta1345678 I took the map file and the assets from Crysis 1, opened the map with Crysis 2's editor, took out all the Crysis 2 incompatible stuff and re-exported the map to engine. Then I used CryEngine 3's resource compiler to convert the assets into PS3 compatible format. Then I transfered the map and the converted assets onto my PS3's harddrive (into the folder where the game installs its files) and replaced the intro map of Crysis 2 with the map I exported. ;)

  • This is pretty impressive, im not going to lie. Can you use the sandbox in the leaked c2 pc beta to make the levels run with AI and such?

  • @TehMinja1134Extras yes you can, but the official Mod SDK for Crysis 2 is out since a few months and the free CE3 SDK too. Crysis Remastered was released for consoles too yesterday. I'm pretty sure you can do everything legally now.

  • @MrUpload oh, my bad man :D im waaaay behind on the times haha. I need to start playing Crysis again now :p no sandbox was one reason i quit playing.

  • @TehMinja1134Extras hehe ;) Have fun!

  • @GuMpAkC the shaders work fine, it's a wrong sRGB color space setting which causes the albino effect on objects. Better don't talk about things you don't understand next time you open your mouth!

  • If this is legit, then well done on overcoming the engine and hardware differences. :)

On another note, it's painful to see the ignorance floating about. How does being a modder make you a cheater and/or hacker? It makes no sense at all. :/
