So when you start listening to jazz you start to get familiar with these sounds and as you play them on your guitar you begin to realize that the fingerings make sense. They are not just complex finger shapes but note intervals. You are just adding more color to the chords, thats what bebop was about for example. You are getting more deep in music, into the language and the sounds of music.

@loombaron i feel you bro, chords are incredibly difficult for me too, but with practice and patience everything feels easy :)

Yup, major and minor are the first scales one must know. Anyway what I find most difficult about jazz are not the scales but the chords, The sixth, seventh, eleventh, 13th chords and their respective inversions. The fingerings are quite difficult and besides jazz progressions use a lot of chords and you have to change quicky from one to another.

@loombaron Yes, you are correct, but i don't know what you mean by "non natural" all i was saying is to get your Major Scale (Ionian Mode) in every tonic, and get a fell of it while improvising, then go with Minor Scale (Aeolian) and get a feel of it too. Then try exploring the other modes, i would rather do it this way because from Western music i think we are more used to hearing those two modes only instead of the other ones too.
When I grow up I want to play just like Joe Pass...and sing just like Frank Sinatra...I`m now 68years old how much longer do I have to wait ???
