Oh my...what memories have just come rushing back to me. A sad song, I remember my dad playing this to us as children & I remember then a tear always falling down my face just like it just has now, only now the tear has has doubled. An extra one for my Dad! Thank you for posting & allowing me to be 10years old again, cuddled beside him once more.xxx :-(

@bairns1234 it touched you. That's why you cry when you hear it. so, it's a nice piece of crap wrapped up in the soft roll of tissue.

@only4sesshomaru oh, forget about their personal issues. They recorded one of the most beautiful and heartfelt songs in country music history.

thank you for posting this song, as well as posting the history of the type of music it was for its' time. This is a very beloved song to me and my family (and I'm only 45 years old!). I remember listening to this on the 45rpm record on RCA at my grandmothers house. She loved this song, and because she loved it, I loved it. Grandma has been gone for 15 years now, and still, to this day, I feel her love when I hear this song. Thank you.

This song has took me back to when I was a little girl. My mother used to love to listen to Dolly and Loretta and Tammy. This was one of the songs that I remember her listening to and we used to just cry. Now I cry cuz it is a sad song but also because my Mother has been dead for 33 yrs now and each time I hear some of these songs it makes me feel so close to her. I was 16 when she died and anything to just get to feel her presents. We also loved the song (Chas) by Dolly.. :(
