    The motor is pretty stock...I think. The only thing Justin added was some sort of aftermarket air filter and a no-name header. Other than that, I think the D16Y8 is pretty stock.

  • Cool, how much of the engine is stock vs aftermarket? I too have a 78 Civic in good shape and I've been wanting to add some power to it. Any suggestions on what to do and where to look?

    Sorry for the late reply, as I was telling @live4muzix, the motor is mostly stock I think except for the airfilter and header. No internal mods as far as I know.

    just felt like saying, the tachometer looks exactly like the tachometer on my 2000 Civic EX... maybe it came from the 6th gen Civics?

    even back then they were still insanelly hard to beat ,try a car against similar era

    not moddded and you ll be at front every time.just make sure to wach liquid level like a monk doing their prayer.yes they were prone to leak.probably doing a proper job atgasket would do the trick.dont use grease or soap .go on the sealant manufacturer for recommanded way to put in a seal.perso i would use sealant but you have to be quick
