Killdeer pair protecting their nest

A pair of Killdeer get excited when a friend and I approached their nest. I never got closer than 5 feet. This nest was in a residential area near Lafayette, La.
One bird stayed on the nest while the other one tried to convince us that he was injured so we would go after him instead of the eggs. There was quite a bit of wind noise, which I tried to eliminate, but you can still hear the high pitch chirps.
