Searching for New Thai Prime Minister

And an update on Thailand's political turmoil. The ruling party is determined to nominate a new prime minister from its own party, the PPP. But for thousands protesters occupying the Government House compound, this is not seen as a clean political move. Here's more.

STORY:
Thailand's People Power Party or PPP, is set to nominate a new prime minister from its own ruling party. But for the People's Alliance for Democracy protesters, known as PAD, this is no solution to their demands.

PAD protesters have occupied the Government House for three weeks now and refuse to accept a new prime minister from the PPP.

The country's acting premier is one of the favorite candidates from the PPP, as well as the country's finance minister and justice minister.

[Penpornlak Sornniyom, PAD Protester]:
"We cannot accept these three guys with initial S, announced by the PPP, as candidates for a new prime minister. So, we will continue to seize the Government House."

Despite all the protesting the ruling party is meeting ahead, and the PPP will announce their candidate for prime minister to the other five coalition parties.

The country's prime minister could have been renominated but he withdrew his bid for a new term after protests from inside his party. A group of 70 PPP members of parliament refused to back up the current PM, fearing his return would make things worse.

Meanwhile the parliamentary vote has moved from last Friday to this coming Wednesday since it was boycotted by coalition parties.
