That's because flash is not safe enough and drinks battery life like hell so they use HTML 5 that's more secure and much efficient with battery life. So you can say that the iPhone is more improved than the other phone(s) and its now up to the website developers to make there website more efficiënt for mobile devices by using HMTL5. They put up a new standard for mobile browsing so you can enjoy your movies faser, more secure and longer that is what we al want right?

So the iPhone has a Hulu app now and Adobe has announced that it is officially no longer developing flash for the mobile device and embracing HTML5... I guess this makes this argument pretty moot.

@zjumps33 Microsoft jumped into the phone industry so successfully they're now in Windows Phone 7 sporting the best GUI for info on the fly.

@nmhusa unfortunately for you the iphone did things that no other smart phones could do at the time. all microsoft does is copy and relabel it as THEIR OWN

@nmhusa The iPhone is not "trying" to catch up. They have purposely rejected supporting on their flash, for whatever reason and never plan to utilize it. But yes Apple has made NOTHING new. Their marketing, however, is genius. That being said, iPhone is the whoel reason these other phones exist, so you cant deny its importance or superiority. Unlike their computers though, yes I think their phone is to a disadvantage by not being as open.

When it comes to making computers, software, and iPods; Apple is amazing. But it needed shome help with the phone part of the iPhone. I don't think the iPhone is lame, but it lacks some things that Windows mobile phones do.

The Iphone is a slick piece of hardware that continues to try and catch up with MS WinMobile. Sadly the Apple Fanboys and Girls that know nothing of hardware/software capabilities continue to think that the iphone is breaking new ground. Other than the multi touch interface (that Apple recently won a patent for) nothing about the iphone is new, unique or superior to any of the competitors on the market. Sadly the poorly informed will defend their overpriced toy.
