In this video, Doug was recovering from a limb amputation. When he was just a puppy, he was hit by a car and lost his back leg. He did great on 3 legs. Then one winter night, he went missing from the acreage. We were worried because the temperatures dropped below 30 centigrade. We couldn't find him. Doug made it home 4 days later after surviving a terrible winter storm. His front paw was mangled (likely from a hunter's trap). The paw was badly injured and the bottom was completely frozen with the bones exposed. Doug was sent immediately to the hospital at the Atlantic Veterinary College in PEI, Canada for surgery. When he was on the surgery table, the vet called to advise that a lump was found. It was cancer. They removed most of it, but sadly it returned 8 months later. Doug underwent chemo therapy but the cancer spread so fast that it claimed his life. This video is dedicated to all of those who have experienced hardships and struggles in their lives. Never lose hope! Although Doug had many challenges, his tail never stopped wagging! He was such a happy dog. In loving memory of Doug. We miss you! xo

  • He had a terrible cancer which spread very quickly throughout his body. We took Doug to a specialist and had him on different cancer treatments and he had undergone surgery. Sadly, nothing was able to rid the cancer. He is in Heaven now. One night when I was praying to God and looking up at the stars, I asked to know if Doug was ok. At that very moment, I saw the most beautiful shooting star. It streaked through the sky very brightly and lasted longer than normal!

  • please... dont lie to him... hes trusts you, if you tell him he´s gonna go for a ride, take him for a ride, youll make him a happy dog if you promise something and you keep your promise

  • Thank you for your honest comment. Just so you know, we drove to this park - I wasn't lying to him. For your reassurance, I have never dishonored a promise to my dog. That would be unacceptable. He was a very special dog to me and I would never trick him into thinking something that wasn't true to elicit a response from him. I appreciate your concern and wished more people shared your philosophy.
