This is Alan Grayson on MSNBC with Dylan Ratigan and Eliot Spitzer discussing Hank Paulson and the bailouts. Grayson said about former Treasury Secretary and former Goldman Sachs CEO Hank Paulson who presided over the bailout while owning hundreds of millions in Goldman stock:
"Hank Paulson never should have had that job in the first place. He had a $700 million conflict of interest and everything that he did while he was Treasury Secretary, every single thing that he did, has one explanation - what's good for Hank Paulson?"
Grayson also discusses the Federal Reserve's secret trillion dollar bailout, Ron Paul, and why transparency is necessary.

Mitchell as Greenspan's wife was the least of it b/c controlling Greenspan himself was much more. Keeping interest rates low guaranteeing a "soft landing" from the 2000 recession was also small potatoes. It did guarantee a period of growth built on house of cards credit. In 2004 the FBI white collar division knew that mortgage related derivatives were already out of control. 2004 was also the year the banks got 30-1 credit reserves. Cheney knew which is why he spent every dime & he did.
Andrea Mitchell is Alan Greenspan's wife? OMG I did not know that!!!! When the housing bubble started to burst and the Dow was dropping from 14,000 to 8,000 I thought I saw an uneasyness in her reporting. Also when she was sort of demoted during the election when Olbermann and Matthews anchored the conventions. Of course those idiots blew that. Sheds a whole new light on her. I'll look into Angler.
Blaming Greenspan is probably correct but it is too simple. The Fed has never been independent. My point is that Greenspan was owned by Cheney making that Fed the least independent. Controlling Greenspan gave him the added bonus of having Greenspan's wife Andrea Mitchell feed talking points to the public through her position at NBC & MSNBC. Read "Angler" & you will see why everyone was afraid of Cheney. He was an all consuming genius but also a genius with major health problems.
I don't buy that tax reduction creates negative income to the govt but i do believe that Greenspan's continually lowering interest rates caused the housing bubble and bust and massive inflation that brought the US to the brink of depression. I don't think it was Cheney. Greenspan was doing it during Reagan and Clinton as well.
Spitzer knew, Cheney knew, Paulson knew what was coming. Cheney was rated by his personal friend Greenspan as one of only three politicians in recent history who understood the economy. Greenspan did exactly as he was told by Cheney & that his Fed Reserve was the least independent. Cheney did "drown the beast" dragging the entire world down with him with 2 off budget wars & 2 tax reductions. McCain/ Palin were drafted to lose the election knowing that the winner would be a 1 termer - U6 18%.
I think Paulson should go to Gauntanomo Bay and be locked up, because he is a real terrorist and traitor in my eyes. Scumbag, I hope you burn in hell!
