A year ago, Dispatches told the story of how children in Africa's Niger Delta were being denounced by Christian pastors as witches and wizards, and then killed, tortured or abandoned by their own families. Following the introduction of the Child Rights legislation and an increase in financial support for a British charity providing a refuge for affected youngsters, the programme returns to find out what happened to some of the people featured in the first film.

  • This is insane and sick and it has to be stopped. Those people are now in 15th, 16th century when catholic church did things like that...witch hunting, burning people and other sick things.

  • @Vincentaneous Good question. I wonder myself why people mostly choose evil over good. Maybe because it's easier. It's down the water stream. Maybe out of fear, insecurity, selfishness, pride...I believe in Satan and that he uses every chance to spoil human beings, and he is very clever and subtle. Maybe that's the reason, too. BTW, I'm not against evolution - I think its probable - and definitely not against science. I am sure Bible doesn't contradict science,if you're thorough

  • @imbrod Here's a question: What causes evil? In other words, what makes a being choose evil rather than good? Free will cannot be the answer, because God has free will and he chooses to do good. I've never run into a Christian who can give a good answer for this. Christianity cannot explain evil, even though it talks about it all the time. One of the strengths of evolution and science is that they offer a very clear and compelling reason for evil.

  • We're in the 21st century and this shit is still happening?! This is just sick!

  • Those so called "Prophets" have been feeding those people with cruel lies just to get money, while killing and torturing thousands of innocent children. Please share this video, wake up other people, LET'S STOP THIS CRUELTY!

  • @mrmojoman4 God designed us so we would freely love him and be with him forever. If we pretend to love him just for the fear of "eternal torture" as you put it, that it doesn't count. Then he will wait for you to learn to love him, without your fingers crossed. At the end, those who freely decided to be with him, will be with him. Others will have separation from him, according to their choice. Is it forever? Some scholars claim it's just till the judgement day, then annihilation.

  • @imbrod god is omniscient. he knew that people would sin when he designed them. therefore he designed them to sin. god knew satan would tempt man, so he designed satan to tempt man. if god gave us the "right to choose", he wouldn't punish every other choice than the one he specifies with eternal torture. /watch?v=H0wSjJAsrAk watch that and i'll watch any similarly timed video you give me. or just watch it if you feel like understanding views of injustice in bible freedom. part 1 is good too.

  • @mrmojoman4 God didn't create sin. God didn't create robots. He created beings who have the right to choose and constantly choose evil (that they produced by the way, not God). You are not describing what God does, you describe what people do. It's true we are constantly tempted. Why? To build character. To grow. To prove we trust God. To grow in love. Then we fall. But God forgives. Then we go again. Until the end when everything will be made right.

  • @imbrod "man cannot be merciful and just at the same time." they can be a lot moreso than god. if i had the power of god, i would have created a world with no suffering. i would not have created a devil, knowing they would cause suffering of innocents. i would not make deals and privileges to the devil to make my other creations suffer. if a society was bugging you, would you kill off everyone? including babies? wrapping your hands around the babies throat, and slowly suffocating it? god would.

  • @mrmojoman4 This is too big for short reply, but I'll give it a shot: God is love. He is merciful and just. Man cannot be merciful and just at the same time, but to God nothing is impossible. He just rewards righteous (and since we are all sinners, we can only be considered righteous because of Jesus' gift of sacrifice), and punishes wicked. But everyone has a lot and lot of choices and opportunities before one ends up there, cause God is slow on anger and patient.

  • this is just wrong. no wonder humanity is doomed to extinction for good
