good exercise. the key isnt trying to do the hardest exercise, its endurance. core work is all about endurance.

That is not a roman chair, and it is also one of the shittest Ab exercises of the planet. Try some hanging leg raises.. making sure your ankles touch your wrists.

this doesn't work the rectus abdominus, it works the hip flexors. reason you feel it in your "abs" is because your transverse abdominus is working hard to stabilize itself.
