  • was the radiator stock too?

  • yeah everything stock except the things listed on the video

  • have you done any " reliability " mods to the car? Also, how many miles are on the motor? sorry for asking so many questions but you don't see stock fd rx7's.

  • the only reliability mod is I replaced the "AST" (Air separator tank) from the factory plastic one which tends to crack, to a metal one. I've just ticked over 40,000kms ;)

  • 1.10.5 is good. but straight away i can tell your loosing time from your suspension. There's more time that can be gained.

  • completely agree - there's more time to be gained in more power, better tyres, and better brakes also but the idea was to test the car completely stock standard mechanically.

  • I'm looking to put the Spirit-R engine and tranny in a 93; any ideas where I can get it? also, I need a Mazda Speed A-spec bumper and rear wing; any ideas would be appreciated

  • oh wow a rx7 fd has always been my top dream car (above lambos, ferraris, and everything) because it's has such a beautiful body style and the rotary engine is a amazing feat for such a tiny thing to put out so much power, and if i managed to somehow get my hands on a spirit r, especially a type a i would probably be the happiest 18 year old alive :)

  • Excellent performance from a stock car. No complaints from me at all. The Spirit R Type A is a great car from factory. I think it's smart that you did your reliability upgrades yet still kept it practically stock. This car is definitely a collectors item since it's the last of the RX7's and the Type A. I am curious as to what number off the line you got.

  • If this was my car I would have put it in a glass-box in my livingroom!

  • @rotor13 The last series still ran at 12psi. The 96-98 series did have more power than the 93-95 cars.

  • @therealpodge nope.

look under the hood of pre 99 FD's and they dont have the "black box" vacuum block that the 99-02's have..... this black box is indicative of having the 16bit ECU.

  • gt5 producers should watch this wind noise not very loud tyre squeel bumpy tracks loud engine noise car vey planted steering heavy in comparison to most games.

  • think they did man!!

  • No. Only the Spirit R and the Type RZ.

  • True. The power for the Type R and Spirit-R was kinda underrated, too. They said it made 276HP (280PS), but that was only to comply with the Gentlemen's Agreement in Japan which limited the horsepower to that. This car produced 320 HP stock. Reminds me of the Skyline R-34 GTR V-Spec, which produced 330 HP.
