@Immortalsyn83 Then there is also the age factor, at age 35 or 40 it is definitely impossible to get the body and mind to adapt to an entirely different fighting style. Asking klitschko to fight in MMA will be like asking Tito ortiz to try pro boxing!
-
@Immortalsyn83 Yep they will definitely run into a wall. Fact is most boxing guys think MMA is easy, that it is easy to defend against a take down, etc. It is only when they try it do they realise that it needs more than a punch to win a fight, many pure kickboxers like lebanner, badr hari, semmy shilt have tried also and they failed awfully.

@JasonZification Well said man! I would like to see a more prominent boxer transition over such as David Haye or a Klitschko brother. However I believe they will run into similar problems because 6 months to a year isn't enough time to learn everything they need to beat a top tier fighter. Just like former heavyweight boxing champion Francois Botha losing in under two minutes to little Akiyama. Toney trained for 6 months to get taken down in 10-15 seconds.
-
@JasonZification i told you i knew that already!

@ghrawl2049 Hahaha! you are really a retarded stupid fuck aren't you?!Ok i will explain it to you again and in another way(read slowly) : The UFC (the company) didn't care about how much they gave toney even though it is much more than any other UFC guys, whether it is more than 500K or more thats not the point, the strategy was to show to the world which was the better combat sport, Toney's pay was just the cost of this strategy and is just like a long term investment
-
@ghrawl2049 I always knew what i was talking about son! As i said in an advertising you will never get EVERYBODY on your side, but the essence is to capture the maximum attention. The UFC and Zuffa are specialists in events, promotion and marketing i doubt they are fools, otherwise the UFC wouldn't have been what it is now.
-
@JasonZification finally now you sound like you know what your talking about. I am a big MMA, BOXING, AND K1 FAN. but for Dana White putting in James Toney when his PRIME weight was 160 POUNDS and not a NATURAL HEAVYWEIGHT in the octagon to make people think UFC is better fighters than boxers is STUPID. Dana White only fooled idiotic UFC fans. not real FIGHT fans like me
-
@ghrawl2049 sorry dude but you must be the one who is stupid because i never denied that TONEY MADE THE MOST MONEY THAT NIGHT, all i'm saying is that it was a strategy that the UFC employed to show to the world that MMA just beat boxing and it was worth the 500K they gave to toney who was just an instrument in this promotion and nothing more.
-
@ghrawl2049 I'm afraid you don't get it, the war between MMA and Boxing has nothing technical, promoters on both sides care only about promotion, media coverage and power, who cares toney wasn't in his prime?randy wasn't in his prime neither, that's open for a debate among fans, but for the promotion it was a win.Its just like advertising, my goal is to show you my product is better than another one,of course i also know that not ALL people will believe so
-
@JasonZification and you really must be stupid because 500,000 before ppv cuts and endorsements is like top pay in UFC you retard
i think boxers would beat MMA fighters in a BOXING ring
and
MMA fighters would be boxers in a MMA fight.

Huge MMA fan. Huge kickboxing fan in all its forms. Used to enjoy boxing too, but after I saw my first muay thai fight in 98 I lost interest. Just seeed too restrictive. That said, pure boxers will always be the best punchers in the world, but thats all theyll be good at.
