Are Dems More Thin-Skinned than Reps? Comedian Sam Tripoli on PC, Ron Paul, and Naughtiness

"I find that, in L.A. at least, opinions hurt your career," says comedian Sam Tripoli.

Tripoli, a national headliner who runs the Naughty Comedy Show at the Hollywood Improv and also hosts the Naughty Show Podcast, is fed up with political correctness in comedy, and his targets include Bill Maher, beer commercials, and easily offended audiences.

Tripoli, a self-proclaimed libertarian, sat down with Reason.tv's Ted Balaker to discuss the state of stand-up, why he digs Ron Paul, and the difference between performing in Blue States versus Red States.

@cano21 The "Ron Paul is a racist" line is the line thrown out among people who can pose no legitimate argument against him.

They can, however, find links to articles they think proves he is a racist, but they usually amount to nothing more than a story of a racist guy donating to his campaign - donations to the tune of $150 or so. Paul is supposed to track and return this among all the millions he gets from other organizations and individuals.

@PhillyBlunt6988 I basically have take that on faith which i probably wont end up doing because you could be saying anything. All the ron paul supporters i know and have met are very intelligent people, 5% of them are prob stupid but the only some what ignorant ones i see are on the internet and there are not that many the majority are well informed and knowledgeable. There are a lot of haters out there because they see things from a conditioned perspective without proper understanding.

Racism is very bad for capitalism. So the capitalist media makes racist commentary a taboo. It's not based in political expediency but commercial necessity. When you are trading with Arabs and Chinese it does you no good to attack their religion and culture. If you do that you will lose their business. This is why if the USA starts persecuting Muslims the price of gas will skyrocket and the US economy will crash in a matter of weeks. So watch what you do Americans. OPEC is watching.
