Indigenous birds of Papua New Guinea (PNG). The clip shows three different male cassowary species, the pigeons and the hornbills. The hornbills weren't impressed by my attempts to get into their space to take their picture. I guess they are very territorial birds and therefore protective about their space or perhaps they think I might attack them.
The biggest worry that I have for these birds are that the destruction of the rainforests (their natural home/habitat) through logging (destructive logging) both legal and illegal and the increase in human population at a rate of 2.5 per cent per year in PNG may(?) force some of these and other indigenous bird species to become extinct in future.
