Un confronto tra il vecchio e il nuovo doppiaggio di Silent Hill 2 (che sarà ripresentato in HD nella SH HD Collection). Seguiteci su: http://www.landofrust.com
It's been confirmed; they didn't (or won't; don't know if they already finished doing the remaster) redub the games; Guy Cihi, and most fans, didn't let them. Actually, I simply can't understand why Konami needs to redub everything for some re-release; it all started with Symphony Of The Night. With the exception of MGS4 (which was produced by Kojima Productions, not Konami itself), today's Konami is trash, compared to the past generations. Just like Capcom. But, just my opinion.
To be honest, the voice talent is better in the re-release, marginally.
However, there was nothing 'that' wrong with the original voice cast to necessitate these new changes, which annoys me because maybe that's one of the aspects people liked about the originals.
It's like if George Lucas, when he decided to release the Star Wars Blu-Ray complete collection, also decided to re dub the entirety of the voice work. If the deliverance was totally different, the lines would not be as memorable.
@GoddessOfAnubis Yeah they should re-release it with the original voices, even if they're hard to track down they're worth preserving. This just sounds lifeless.
And I think this should be included in the next release. In the scene following the videotape, you'd be sharing in James's devastation, and the rest of the game would have a different tone:
@Bummercund It's more than an insult. It's like Konami is just punching us in the gut and trying to say that they can do whatever they want and we'll buy their shit. Well, no. It doesn't work that way. I had planned on buying this piece of shit until the cashier mentioned that they changed the voices and I kindly asked for him to cancel my transaction.
anyone who thinks the original VA's were better need to take off the nostalgia glasses. The new voice acting is far superior. Also don't mistake "confusion" or "vagueness" of the original actors delivery with plain old poor translation, or just bad direction.
WTF!!!

Going on from that, they'd better not have butchered Silent Hill 3...
