  • does this video help a left handed archer like me or does it make no difference?

  • @lveratadeo yes it will help. Just change left to right, and right to left. The principles are exactly the same.

  • god vid but you should have also mentioned the other 3 stances, the other 2 anchors, and the other 2 bow hands. one fin\ger above and two under, or just 2 under.

  • @extremehunter1996 that would then be the "Complete Guide to Shooting Recurve", this was intentionally the "Simple Guide to Shooting Recurve". The audience this video was aimed at do not need to know all of the information you suggest when they start shooting.

  • my bow hits my hand what to do now?

  • @z3pwn3r speak to a coach or good archer in your area and get them to watch you shooting

  • "bow arm should remain solid until after the arrow has hit the boss"

This didn't work for me. As soon as I aimed my bow at the boss, he ran towards me and kicked my ass and told me never to bring my bow to work again.

Just kidding. Very nice vid. Thank you. I'm a lefty but still found your video very helpful and informative.

  • good video, wingfoot. thank you. :-)

  • Thank You for this video! I appreciate it! I've practiced most of what you show and it has helped alot! Except I'm not shooting with the bow sight. Very good video! Good work! Ranger5070

  • @TheYouuTubeRipper That made me laugh!

  • @lveratadeo just remeber that you don't pick which way you shoot based on hand dominance, you pick based on eye dominance.

  • @icecoldwolf I think you've answered your own question here! Having said that, when you use three fingers you will find that the two under the arrow are holding the majority of the weight and the top finger is only holding a little (around just 15%) but this helps enormously and gives more control than just two fingers. you may find that you are pinching the arrow more with two fingers making it come off the rest a lot! This is reduced by using the three finger or 'Mediterranean ' string grip.

  • @Brathwurst If you hold the bow correctly then the string will not hit your forearm. You can still twist your arm to turn your elbow away from the string and keep the arm straight. Don't be tempted to let the shoulder of the bowarm rise and move toward your neck under the weight of the bow this will also you keep a consistant draw length and also help keep the string away from your arm.

This is a problem with many causes and solutions but mainly prevented by correct bow grip and arm position.

  • @lveratadeo only matter with your stance this video show the left foot slightly behind the right one . so you would place you right foot slightly behind your left. other than that everything else should be the same. other than u useing your left hand as the sting hand and your right one as the bow hand . hope this helps.

  • @dullspork holy shit hahaha. dunno what i was saying, was probably at 3in the morning or somet.

Puke is obviously what i meant to say
