Music from Australia and New Zealand in the year 1978:

Skyhooks' promo-video for the hit single 'Women In Uniform' (February, 1978), taken from the 1978 album 'Guilty Before Proven Insane'.

Note: Iron Maiden later covered this track. Please respect the fact that there are many Skyhooks fans, so bagging them out over which version is better is not welcomed.

This was the last hit single Skyhooks would have before the departure of the late Shirley Strachan.

  • To be sure that my comment was fair I watched all the Iron Maiden covers of this song that I could find. I kept thinking that I was seeing the pissweak performances and that there must be a killer version at the next link, but it never happened.

Only the most welded-on fan of Maiden would think they did "Women" better than the 'Hooks.

I saw 'Hooks at the Capitol in Sydney on their "Second Coming" tour. Their performance of this was shatteringly powerful, this video is tame in comparison.

  • great song great album great band ....BUT the song of the album IMHO was" why dont you all get fucked" ......only DOUBLEJ played that one LOL

  • I thought Freddie's head was going to explode towards the end!

  • @Slayeroflight654 We all have our own fave - for me my take is The Hooks. When Shirl - the lead vocallist died - Greg - the writer and founder of Skyhooks said - Shirl had a hidden weapon - he had an abilty to go up an extra octave - more than most people ,I think you will find it apparent if you listen to the conclusion. In all fairness toi maiden if BD performed it he would master it.

  • @Ceaaa22 rigggggghhht,so when someone calls another person a troll on you tube, there basically just callin them a dickhead hey.?...its not someone who trolls through all the vids and comments, thats what i thought.....So maybe im a troll for askin this question....Anyway Skyhooks kicked arse.

  • @motorcycledude1000 In Lord of the Rings, they're quite formidable and will likely crush you to death with their bare hands ( or under a battlehammer ), but anywhere else they're harmless dickheads.
