Memories of my sweet Bobby...gone my love but never forgotten. Our song always...Thank you for 2 great kids and 30 beautiful years.I'll always love you.
@theTipkemper you are right. Bob Armstrong is my Great uncle. he died of melanoma caner that developed under his nail 10 years ago. the docters said he woulden't survive untill christmas but he did. he is the one on the right side looking at the stage
@trd2009 PBS used a couple of house bands joined together for these shows. The horn and string sections were the Ric Mansfield Orchestra. The drummer, keyboardist, guitarist, and bassist, as well as the four backing vocalists behind Jerry Butler, are a band called Pure Gold. The keyboardist's name is Larry Siefers.
@trd2009 If you still care after all this time, the only "Casinos" were the vocalists. Gene used to travel and record with 9 people including organ and horns. The musicians in this clip were all union musicians hired for the show. (Big clue---if they're reading music after 45 years of playing this tune, they were hired for the gig.)
Good stuff. Thanx for sharing.

The keyboardist on this date is not Bob Armstrong. Bob is the vocalist behind Gene on the right. And yes, unfortunately, he passed away on 12/27.
