This is a poem I wrote after hearing about the Derrion Albert story out of Chicago. I hadn't heard any poems regarding his death and I think it's something we definitely should be discussing. There was a drive by in D.C. this week that left two teens dead. Back home in Arkansas a guy was killed over $50, both the victim and the guilty party were Black males. As old school and cliche as Black on Black crime is, it is an issue that we still need to address, a problem that still needs to be solved.

great...takes strength and wisdom not to lift one's hand against another...the culture of machismo is simply fear and ignorance in disguise.
