  • that's very true, sometimes it takes a great motivation for humans do do great things (such as the cold war). clearly we have had the technology to have done a lot more since then. Just no reason to i guess.

  • You know, it's sad to think that the last truly ambitious thing mankind has done happened 40 years ago.

    At the time this happened, just think of what people imagined 2009 to be like. The possibilities were endless. We'd probably have colonized the moon, mars if not more by 2009, discovered alien races, have flying cars, floating buildings etc etc etc.

    Now think about how we, in 2009, imagine 2049 to be. I don't think a whole lot different than now, honestly. Where has our drive gone? :-(
