Screen Australia has teamed up with Paris-based Ruby Boukabou at Ruby TV to present a series of video blogs from the Cannes Film Festival 2011.
In this first blog Ruby introduces us to the opening night film - Woody Allen's Midnight in Paris and the Australian festival line-up. Sleeping Beauty, the debut feature from Julia Leigh, screens In Competition; Toomelah, directed by Ivan Sen, screens in Un Certain Regard; Snowtown, directed by Justin Kurzel, will have its international premiere in Critics' Week; and Bear, directed by Nash Edgerton, screens in Cannes' Short Film Competition.
Our website - http://www.australiaatcannes.com/ - has all the information about other films screening in the market, along with the latest news on upcoming titles from Australia.
guys guys guys this was the first film we did and it was hard to shoot on the train discreetly (couldn't use big cameras or talk loudly) and they all got better from here in every respect. no idea why this one is so popular - the others are all technically better.... go watch them instead.
