I bought a knitmaster 360 from ebay. I have my brother 260 and have been using it but, it only has 114 needles. I wanted a knitting machine that had 200 needles..When I get my knitmaster I will clean it and replace the retainer bar and I have also found a lace carriage on ebay... I may be buying that off ebay as well.

Did you change your sponge bar to a more modern one? The later sponge bars have a thinner profile on the metal part that allows the needles to move higher from the needle bed which is needed to let them cross over properly.

It did have a fairly new sponge bar in it but the real problem was that I shouldn't really have been using the lace carriage on this machine as it was designed for the later models.

have you been doing the two rows knit and tow rows transfer...you change the button on the dial over for two rows so the stitches can transfer..and then you knit for two rows..and repeat......the other thing i have noticed is that the lace feed isn't moving much...i've got a lace carriage the same as yours for a silver reed 280 and it works fine...give it a go,you've got nothing to loose honey!!!!

I was doing it right but the lace carriage wasn't designed for the Knitmaster 321 which is why it wouldn't work properly.
I have since bought a new Silver Reed 280 and the lace carriage works perfectly on it.

Did you give up or did you replace the needles to type 2?
