-
very nice tank mate how many do you have in there? check mine out?
-
hey check out my vid of the 40 gallon cichlid tank, and give me some reccomendations because OBVIOUSLY you know how to decorate a tank!!
-
@Diegovaiasuso - Are you talking about substrate?? Yes malawi's love sand, some of them 'move' sand all day long by picking it up in there mouth and spitting it out somewhere else...
-
you have such a sick tank haha
do u think sand is better for cichlids than rocks?
-
@Hobden2XD - No, there is no other tanganyikans in the tank accept the fronts and that is because they grew up in a busy malawi tank. I put them in a tank by themselfs once but they where unhappy so i put them back with the malawi's and now they are happy again...

@diespar cheers mate ill have a look around for the bio rock i had to take the rock out u c in the vid cos of the amount of fish waste that built up put in black cobbles from b&q looks nice ill put a vid of it up
-
@ndse8 - Very nice, your fish gives good colour to the tank. You will always have aggression in a malawi tank, i would put more rock in so they have more hiding places if they are being chased... Try Bio rock that they use in marine tanks, its lighter so you can stack it higher and it also gives the best bio filtration, then you can use your filter only for mechanical and chemical filtration...
-
@DgosFinnest - I use a big sump filter with a lot of bio media, i also double dose my carbon. If you want crystal clear water you can also use RO/DI water like i do with my reef tank...a good UV sterilizer also wont hurt...
so they don't grow very fast? will they get huge? do you have them still? can you look at mine and tell me how old you think they are. thanks.

@homewreckerrob - Your fish looks between 2 & 5 months old... they can be fully grown in 6 months if you feed them twice to 3 times a day, just make sure your filtration can handel it...Malawi's will stop eating if they are full...
