My cat is sick and can't stand up after an embolism 5 days ago, but she is doing this in her sleep. I hope it means she's getting better. She keeps trying really hard to stand up and luckily it didn't go to her brain and she's mentally still there. She also still has movement in her back legs and feeling everywhere so that's a great sign.

  • My cats doing this too! But wayyyy crazier... she falls off beds and stuff too :( I though it was seizures but it literally happens almost constantly while shes sleeping, which lead me to think its her dreaming. Its never happened while she was awake and it happens every night in her sleep. Does this sound like your cat? What type of seizures did they say it was?

  • @mbonacc It might be just dreaming. I never had the neurological testing done. My cat is 16 years old and she didn't used to do this. She urinates on herself when she does this sometimes which makes me think it's more than just dreaming. She can be on the couch and instantly end up in the floor because she jerks her body so hard. Maybe it's nothing to worry about except we have to be very careful to watch where she sleeps so she doesn't fall off of something.

  • its like a reaction when they dream... just like us

  • @HUNDEMAXIMMUS Oh thank you. I hope you're right!

  • I brush my cat several times a day I have several brushes. She's about a million years old so she's very calm.

  • I have that. so does my son and my sister. Its not a seisure, cuz my boyfriend has those. If the cat was on its legs it would be walking. I've done that and tried to beat the shit out of my mom who tried to wake me up when i was like that. The cat is either "startling" or sleep walking, I do both in my sleep, so I sympathize with the cat.

  • awww

  • The cat may be having a nightmare during REM sleep (Rapid Eye Movement)-which causes dreams. In the dream, he/she may be running. A seizure in sleep is only 15% possible, as it could be harmful. Sorry aboit you cat.

  • i have a cat who had this too. she is just remeberig movements before

  • @neomatrix24 How is she doing?

  • AWWWW THATS SAD!!!!!!
