The true life of Adventures of Tabby, a "down-in-the-back" Dachsund and the owner that loves her. Instructions on how to maintain quality of life for a paralyzed pet
I'm lost and I don't know where to go from here. She's on kennel rest for about 5 more weeks but after that I don't know what to do. Please help me. My e-mail is gaskin_carrie @yahoo.com or gaskin_carrie@hotmail.com. Any advice or information is greatly appreciated.
My doxie's name is Ruby, she's going through similar issues and is partially paralyzed. My family wants me to euthanize her but she's my best friend and baby. She's always there for me and I treat her as if she were my daughter. My family keeps telling me her quality of life isn't quality with her injury, but I can't just kill her because her rear legs don't quite work. I'm so lost and I don't know what to do. This injury happened about 3 1/2 weeks ago and she's on anti-inflammatory medicine.
Very encouraged! I have a 11 year old mini who is hospitalized now for a disc injury. She still is moving around on all 4's but she is very painful & being with her Vet who loves her & all dachshund especially, is the best for her to keep her very still & hopefully heal her. Your little girl is spunky, happy & sweet as can be & it encourages me for my dachshund, Lilly! Thank you!
Now that was amazing! We had a Dapple Dachshund named Pepper. He got like your dog. But my family had him euthanized. I sure wish they could have saw this back in 2002. Pepper was only eight when he hurt his back. If he were still alive. He would have turned sixteen.
Truly an awesome display of why dogs are our best friends. The joy they give us, easily outweighs any difficulties that may come our way as owners. I commend you for not giving up on this truly wonderful little dog. I have two myself, and love them dearly.
Can you make a video of Paris please. Its Anthony.

You are a wonderful person. This is a great video.
Our dachs had a similar IVDD injury but made a full recovery after an emergency surgery. We never gave up on him and he never let us down.
