  • An exerpt of Capoeira from the stellar Di Meola album "Soaring Through A Dream", one of his most prolific recordings ever and one of the best CD's money could buy when the Compact Disc medium first came out. Highly recommend it to all.

  • Yes Al, definitely yes....

  • @fshadowk12690 "The name of this song"..in English? Directly translated from Portuguese, "chicken coop". New African arrivals in Brazil would hide from cruel slave-masters in chicken coops. Also the name of the deadly Brazilian martial art created by Africans in Brazil, and the folk music played by Black Brazilians (w. berimbau, origins in Angola).

  • Regarding his singing, I believe that's Al doing the chorus on the short vignette 'Pictures of the Sea' from his debut solo album 'Land of the Midnight Sun'. There's also some desultory vocal on 'Splendido Sundance as tresojos mentioned. Thankfully, he knows better than to spotlight it, unlike some great guitarists who think their prowess on the strings gives them a licence to vocalize. HeavyBlackRocks - by 'prolific' (high output) you meant 'prodigious'? A minor malapropism - great album.

  • fantastic song i have the rite of strings and two disc set of soaring through a dream does real good job spicing up my collection

  • Great!!!

  • Here, he look's like Russel Crowe
