Women Lie, Men Lie Episode 4

Well, I think my big brother might be moving to California... No one will really tell me because they know he's the only one I like in my house anymore. So to vent, I decided to write a story about people leaving you. And in case you forgot any of the characters:

Nicole fumbled with the buttons on her blouse and fought back another set of tears. The first time she slept with Conner was one too many times. She told herself that Hayden would never find out. And honestly she wouldn't. Even if Hayden did find out about their affair she would just ignore it.

Hayden liked to sweep anything she didn't want to talk about under the carpet. Including Austin. And the real reasons she was marrying Conner.

Nicole felt the weight of his chin resting on her shoulder and the lingering warmth of his arms around her waist. She also heard the key twisting in the lock and knew she was about to get a mouth full. Conner quickly pulled on his jeans and fastened the buckle on his belt.

Kara threw her bag and keys on the counter, slowly making her way to Nicole's room to tell her about her night or have another excuse of why she wouldn't have her rent this month. Kara was a bartender at High Tops, the only bar worth going to in Baltimore, along with Hayden and usually spent all her tips on new shoes rather than rent.

She twisted the brass handle on the door expecting to find Nicole sleeping peacefully under her duvet. Not her best friends fiance and room mate... Although it wasn't the first time.

And like a scared little puppy, Conner swept past her when the door opened, trying to avoid confrontation. Nicole swallowed the lump in her throat and stood up.

"Kar..."

"What the fuck Nicole? I can only ignore this for so long." Kara kicked her Manilos off and sat on Nicole's bed.

Nicole was ready to get down on her knees and beg "I know, and I'm going to end it. Just don't tell Hayden."

"You said that the last ten times..."

Nicole stayed silent.

"You know there was a time when Hayden was actually happy" Kara whispered, and shut the door quietly behind her, leaving Nicole with her sorry ass.
